Another spring day, calls for another spring staple. Along with the black leather shorts, it’s just as necessary to have a pair of white jean shorts. Just like black, white also tends to go with just about anything. The pair I have today is the perfect mix of my favorite things: cut-off, high-waisted and studded. You just can’t go wrong with these.

Today after I got dressed, I realized that I remembered the exact day I purchased these pants. I remember being so happy to find them because I had never seen anything like them before. I was shopping with one of my best friends (love you Jyss!) and we decided we were going to treat ourselves. I had received one of my first paychecks from my first “Big Girl Job” and sometimes you do deserve to just splurge on yourself a little. After I tried these on, we both agreed that I needed them. After I bought them, I planned when I was going to wear them, it would be for a “date night.” When that night finally happened, I was told these pants were “interesting” and after being so excited for an outfit, I did something I will never do again. I changed.

The big countdown for the Caudill/Davis wedding is officially at THREE days! It’s remarkable how quickly times passes. Ashley, being the lovely and crazy creative individual she is, decided that she wanted us all to make our own bouquets that we carry down the aisle on the big day. How cool is that? We all ventured to Fort Wayne to create our own bouquets at the floral outlet, so I decided to wear my romper to give all of us a little inspiration.

I am still adjusting to my new hair, (which I love!) surprisingly, most people are telling me it looks incredibly natural. If they are being honest, then that is awesome, if not, well I appreciate their kindness and white lies. As I thought, this hair color does make putting outfits together a fun challenge.
I wanted to go for a more girly look today to switch it up a bit and I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. One of my best friends surprised me with my sunflower skirt for my birthday last October and I love wearing it through the various seasons (thanks Mel!) This skirt is really fun and versatile because it has two long slits in the front, so you can either wear it with tights when it is colder, or wear it without when it is warmer because the fabric is sheer and really light. Another thing I love about this skirt (aside from the obvious floral print) is that it has a high waist.

I love days when a good song is stuck in my head. Fortunately, today this song was “White Blank Page” by Mumford and Sons. This song is definitely in my top 5 favorite songs ever (and it’s incredible live.) When I woke up to this song today, I took it as a sign to wear my Mumford and Sons t-shirt I bought at their concert this time last year. I will always remember that night because it was one of the best i’ve ever had and it all last minute. Honestly though, how can you beat awesome music with one of your best friends? You can’t.(Thanks again, Travis, and ps…we’re going again!!!)

Tonight is my first time attending a country concert, unless you count Taylor Swift, but I do agree with that community…she’s really not country in my opinion. Nevertheless, I am pretty excited to see Jake Owen. Because I do not consider myself to be country in the slightest, I decided to put my own spin on this style.
To me, when I think of country, I think of plaids/flannels, jean jackets and cowboy boots. So, I decided to wear a dress with a plaid jacket. A note to everyone out there reading this, this is the first time I have ever worn this jacket in the two years I have had it. It really is cute, I just put it my closet and kind of forgot about it but it is perfect for tonight…so don’t throw pieces out because you haven’t seen them in a while.

Today marks the 10th anniversary for the movie “Mean Girls.” So, today’s post is dedicated to all the mean girls in our lives, and who to replace them with.
In a group of girlfriends, there is always bound to be at least one mean girl. Whether she’s the one without a filter, the one who holds nothing back, or the worst, the one who says everything behind everyone’s back and plays every side, these girls exist in EVERY circle. If you don’t think so, then you haven’t discovered she’s talking about you yet.

Ok, so I know today is not technically Spring, but it feels like it, so I’m going with it. Just knowing I could be outside all day today without a jacket is uplifting. That said, it’s a new season, and time for a new love. These past couple of months have been anything but easy for me. There’s been the classic combination of heartbreak, doubt and loneliness, I mean honestly, this is what our twenties are for right? But today, I am dedicating this season to find love again, starting with most importantly, loving myself.
I am still trying to figure out what to do with my life, and I am young enough to make mistakes and still be OK. This is somewhat reassuring. Knowing there are so many opportunities in this world has made me grateful that I am continuing this journey of self-discovery by myself, and I mean, don’t get me wrong, I am fully aware it will be a lonely life for some time, but it will be worth it in the end. Thankfully, I have the best support system anyone could ask for (and I know everyone says this, but truly, thank you to my family and friends for being my rock and for your continued support on this crazy ride).

Today it started snowing…again. I love the snow for Christmas, but once the holiday is over, I’m ready for the snow to be gone as well. But, I can’t control the weather, but I can control how to handle it. So I decided to embrace it with my winter must-have. An oversized comfy sweater. I like to buy these a size or two larger for added comfort, this way too, they are long enough to wear with only leggings, like I did today. You can also wear oversized sweaters with jeans, but if I’m doing comfy, I’m going all the way and keeping with leggings. A sweater really is a winter staple, and this color is a neutral so that makes it great and versatile for different colored leggings or even jeans.
