I got it from my nana

13th May 2014

Well, today the weather (although cloudy) hit a high of 63! So amazing for January! Aside from the heavy dose of humidity, I was able to wear a dress…in January (I still cannot get over that!) This Simply Vera dress, by Vera Wang is sheer and very form fitting, and also extremely comfortable.

Just keep your head above…swim.

After meeting Andy McMahon at the FUN. concert at Ball State University on Friday night, it only felt right to purchase one of Andy’s shirts. I absolutely love the song, ‘Swim’ so I bought the shirt that says, “Just keep your head above, swim” I love it so much and it matches perfectly with my printed pants from Forever 21.

Is that sweater backwards?

13th May 2014

post6

This is the outfit I wore on Thursday. My jeans are Joe Jeans (yes, the kind you can spot Jennifer Aniston wearing). They can be found on the website 6pm for wayyy cheaper! My shirt and sweater are from Forever 21 and the neat thing about my sweater is that I am actually wearing it backwards. I was wanting to wear my cross shirt, but because it is so frigid outside, I needed a sweater and I love my grey one so I unbuttoned it and wore it backwards (I received a lot of compliments and no one could even tell!) So awesome. Like I have said before, just go for it when it comes to fashion. To look confident, you have to feel confident.

Go to class, with my go-to piece

Having a “go-to” piece is essential for every person! When I am in a hurry, my piece is always something that I know I can grab and when I pack for the weekend, this always makes it into my bag. Which piece you might ask? My go-to is my jean shirt from PacSun. It was on clearance (if not already, this will be your new favorite word) and I knew right then it was a MUST. It really pulls any look together. Today I paired it with my black Forever 21 jeans and my burnt orange tank top from T.J. Maxx. I love pairing my jean shirt with floral dresses for a more casual every day look also. This shirt fits so many seasons and it can be worn with shorts, skirts, dresses and more. I love it and it will always be an easy add-on for any outfit. I also added a colorful headband to pull the color out my shirt a little more.

Fantastic florals

Today was the first day back to school after the holiday. Although it was a little difficult getting back into the habit after a day off, fashion was still spot on. Today, I chose a floral, sheer top with grey jeans. My top was a total steal. It is from T.J. Maxx and only $5! How can you beat that? My jeans are from Charlotte Russe and I completed my look with my go-to brown boots and yellow statement necklace. Even though the weather here today was a chilling 14 degrees, I chose the sheer top (I mean our buildings are heated so, why not?) Pairing a sheer top with jeans and boots really makes this a casual look for either spring or winter. Let’s warm thing up and take a look at some HOT fashion from Paris. Wouldn’t it be nice to be there right now?

What was your look for today?

A little shimmer, a little shine

Today’s outfit: royal blue shimmer jeans from T.J. Maxx and a white sheer blouse with a little detail, also from T.J. Maxx. I added my same yellow necklace from Etsy to this outfit also to give it a little more kick of color. This almost feels cartoonish because of the bold colors, but what is not to love about fashion?

How to Dress in the Midwest

13th May 2014

post1

Well, we’re in the Midwest where you can wear a dress one day and then back to full-length down winter coat with gloves and a hat. Yes, that is exactly what my weekend wardrobe consisted of! This is one the fun things about Indiana, you truly never know what to expect with the weather! So, little lesson of the day, always be prepared! I make sure to always have sweaters on hand because they are too good to be true honestly. There is almost nothing better than wearing a big comfy sweater to class, so relaxing and cute, and completely effortless. I always love to buy my sweaters at least one size bigger to assure its long style and to be assured it is comfortable.

“I hope you’re not taking colored photos today…”

Yes, that is exactly what one of my professors said today, and then he noticed my necklace and said the little color was nice. I love how something so small can really big the biggest thing about your outfit, and today, that was definitely my yellow necklace from Etsy. I love how that is the first thing you notice, which was the exact point! Color is so important, and as noticed today, even a little bit goes a LONG way!
