Another spring day, calls for another spring staple. Along with the black leather shorts, it’s just as necessary to have a pair of white jean shorts. Just like black, white also tends to go with just about anything. The pair I have today is the perfect mix of my favorite things: cut-off, high-waisted and studded. You just can’t go wrong with these.

I had a few decisions to make today. Do I brace the rain with an umbrella, hat or a headband? Umbrella seems like the logical choice, but that was in my car (as is, my typical luck) so that left two options: hat, or headband. Since I wore a hat yesterday, I wanted to change it up and wear a headband.

Today’s look is simple, and right to the point. I knew I was attending a board meeting later in the day so I chose an outfit that wasn’t too much of anything: too over the top, or too plain. To add a little more “sass” to the look, I threw on my favorite (and only, sadly) bowler hat.

Today was a bit of a whirlwind, and by whirlwind, I mean there were plenty of ups and downs (must be a Monday thing). Regardless, I had subconsciously chosen the perfect outfit that really set the mood for the whole day. I decided to wear my high low skirt with a crop top.

Today after I got dressed, I realized that I remembered the exact day I purchased these pants. I remember being so happy to find them because I had never seen anything like them before. I was shopping with one of my best friends (love you Jyss!) and we decided we were going to treat ourselves. I had received one of my first paychecks from my first “Big Girl Job” and sometimes you do deserve to just splurge on yourself a little. After I tried these on, we both agreed that I needed them. After I bought them, I planned when I was going to wear them, it would be for a “date night.” When that night finally happened, I was told these pants were “interesting” and after being so excited for an outfit, I did something I will never do again. I changed.

Today is all about Spring and Summer staples we all should have. These few key pieces can really make your wardrobe broaden because they can be styled differently each time you wear them. Plus, they are all really fun to create new looks with as well.

The big countdown for the Caudill/Davis wedding is officially at THREE days! It’s remarkable how quickly times passes. Ashley, being the lovely and crazy creative individual she is, decided that she wanted us all to make our own bouquets that we carry down the aisle on the big day. How cool is that? We all ventured to Fort Wayne to create our own bouquets at the floral outlet, so I decided to wear my romper to give all of us a little inspiration.

The perfect spring day, calls for the perfect spring outfit. After browsing my closet, for some time, I found exactly what I wanted. Even though it’s spring, and pretty muggy outside, you can still wear your favorite knits.

I am still adjusting to my new hair, (which I love!) surprisingly, most people are telling me it looks incredibly natural. If they are being honest, then that is awesome, if not, well I appreciate their kindness and white lies. As I thought, this hair color does make putting outfits together a fun challenge.
I wanted to go for a more girly look today to switch it up a bit and I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. One of my best friends surprised me with my sunflower skirt for my birthday last October and I love wearing it through the various seasons (thanks Mel!) This skirt is really fun and versatile because it has two long slits in the front, so you can either wear it with tights when it is colder, or wear it without when it is warmer because the fabric is sheer and really light. Another thing I love about this skirt (aside from the obvious floral print) is that it has a high waist.
