Embracing the Faults

I finished reading “The Fault in Our Stars” today. I started reading it last night, and really just could not put it down. Even though the book is ALWAYS better, I am still excited to watch this tear jerker with my girlfriends. Finishing this book made me think about life…I know, cliche, but sometimes I feel like I take a lot for granted, and I know I’m not the only one.

This book is centered around two teenagers with cancer, who fall in love. Long story short (you’re welcome for ignoring the heart wrenching details) lives are lost, but the silver lining is being thankful for their incredibly short time together.

This really just put a lot in perspective for me. You truly never know what is going to happen tomorrow, what could possibly go unsaid for eternity, or you may just never do something you’ve always intended. I hate thinking this could happen, but time is just a tricky, messy, at times beautiful, crazy thing.

Today, I decided to wear a more simple outfit to portray my newfound outlook on life. I want to make things simpler instead of overcomplicating them (which feels like a trend as of late with me). Life is crazy, but we have the control for how we react to each occurrence. Accept the negativity. It exists. I’m not saying everything is going to easy, but just deal with it and move on. Say what you feel to who matters to you. Just be happy to have today, and enjoy the simple things, like a day spent with family. You truly, never know how much time is left, for anything.

Ps. Read the book. OKAY? OKAY.
