Rain Day Necessities

I had a few decisions to make today. Do I brace the rain with an umbrella, hat or a headband? Umbrella seems like the logical choice, but that was in my car (as is, my typical luck) so that left two options: hat, or headband. Since I wore a hat yesterday, I wanted to change it up and wear a headband.

This headband is from Texas. OK, it’s from a Charlotte Russe, in Texas, but doesn’t Texas just sound so much cooler? Anyways, this one is my favorite headband I have so far, in my mini (but growing) collection. I love the color of the headband because it is my favorite neutral, and I consider this mauve/pinkish shade neutral because it can be worn with any of the basics (black, grey, white) and look awesome. I also really loved the pearl studs on the headband because it’s just enough bling to not be overkill. Believe me, I love sparkle more than the average person, but there is a limit. I also love the different ways this headband can be worn. Typically, I wear it under my hair, like a normal headband, but today I wanted to try it over my hair to make it more noticeable. (I’ve yet to wear this headband without a compliment from a stranger, so that’s pretty cool.) Side note: This headband also looks pretty sweet when worn with an updo.

The most basic accessories can complete an outfit. A simple top with leggings really looks completely different with a bedazzled headband and it is so simple to create this look. This was the best decision for a rainy day. It made for some horrible, frizzy hair, but it was all overlooked with this killer headband.

Steal my look today: Leggings: Carson’s Chambray Shirt: Pacsun, Headband: Charlotte Russe
