A Serious Case of the Mondays

Most days, I can take on the day without giving in to the negativity. Today, was not one of those days. Like everyone else, I have my fair share of “bad” days. Of course, I try to handle every situation I can, but sometimes, you need to give in and just accept some things you are not in control of. We will have bad days, because we are human. Nothing really triggered this lousy day, it just started unlike I wanted/planned, plus it’s Monday. So there was only one thing I could think to do to avoid a meltdown…break out my favorite pants.

After I got dressed, it made the rest of this day feel a little better, but it didn’t solve the whole issue (although I wish it were that simple.) Just because you feel bad, doesn’t necessarily mean you need to look bad. I absolutely hate feeling vulnerable and having people feel “bad” or feel the need to comfort me. This is not the kind of attention I ever want to receive. I choose to handle my own issues on my own (unless it is something serious, then I want to talk about it) but more often than not, I just write/blog it all out and move on. If I dressed sloppy, or stayed in sweats all day, people would sense there is something wrong, and that’s not what I want. Plus, dressing for the day makes me even more motivated and ready to problem solve.

Today, I am wearing my favorite pants. I love the busy print because it allows me to mix with a more simple pattern. This is why I chose to wear my white tank top that had subtle, yet colorful detail. I then added my new favorite booties to really make the purple in my top pop.

Bad days will always happen, but you have complete control over how to react to them. Just breath, throw on one of your favorite pieces and just take it slow, because wallowing is never the answer.
