Today started by finally meeting one of the most handsome little boys…ever! Little Eli is as perfect as it gets. He has the sweetest little angelic face framed with the most gorgeous auburn hair. First impression: it was love at first sight. I, on the other hand, wanted to make a great first impression to this little bundle, and I know he won’t remember meeting me (or gripping onto my finger the entire time I was holding him) but there will be pictures, and I want him to remember that his Aunt Siara had some serious style, and you never have a second chance to make a first impression.
Once again, it was a downpour, and when I say downpour, I mean it was the annoying mist of rain that only made my hair friz – again. To counter the overcast, grey sky, I decided to again wear another pair of white jeans with a floral design (I told you, it’s my favorite.) I love these jeans because they have such a bright pattern that you can choose to make bolder (by wearing white or orange like I did today) or even downplaying the print by wearing black. I chose to make it bold because it’s way more fun being loud than boring.
My top is actually a hand-me-down from my aunt. I loved it the minute I saw it. It’s a piece that has an awkward length because it’s not long enough to be a dress without tights or leggings, but not totally short enough to be worn as a regular tank top, but when paired with my floral print pants, it creates a loud, memorable look – just what I was going for. I would have rather worn just the tank top with my pants, but it was pretty frigid so I chose to wear my white jean jacket (another staple you must have) instead of a regular sweater. I think opting for the jean jacket gave the look an overall younger feel.
Hopefully, when Eli looks back at these photos, he realizes that his aunt was pretty cool “back in the day.” But, only time will tell! First impressions are critical, so take some time to plan an outfit that really shows your personality and makes you memorable!
