Track Meets and Track Pants

Today marked the first track meet for the Washington Hornets, and also the first day I have decided to stay in “sweats.” I am not one to really dress in “comfy” clothes all day, but with a day full of errands and sporting events, it only seemed appropriate. But being me, I had to put my own style into my look today.

Instead of opting for the most ridiculously comfortable sweatpants on the planet (yes, I’m talking about mens oversized Hanes pants, and yes even the ones with the cuffed bottom) I chose to wear my yoga pants. These are super simple to dress up because 1. they are usually plain and 2. all you need is a jacket to really make the look complete. I chose to wear my favorite jacket from Pacsun. It is super simple and the leather sleeve really gives the entire outfit more of an edgy look.

As for shoes, you will NEVER see me in tennis shoes unless I’m running or exercising. This is another easy way to make your look go from “lazy” to stylish. I chose to wear my Blowfish booties to add a little more color and just pull my entire outfit together. This was the perfect look for running errands, and I did not feel over or under-dressed for the track meet. Just because you have a busy day does not mean your look needs to be boring, nor does it mean your look needs to over-the-top either. Yoga pants+a stylish jacket is an easy way to take comfortable to the next level. Plus, this is the perfect way to make a “messy bun” work, because let’s be real, who really wants to style their hair every single day? If you do, props to you, but I love a quick up-do. This look could also be completed by adding an oversized flannel versus a jacket, it’s really your preference. I hope this post inspires you to try a different approach to comfortable. Remember, adding your own personal touch to everything is what your style is all about. Always be true to yourself.

Steal my look today: Jacket: Pacsun ($17!) Yoga Pant: Victoria’s Secret (but can be found almost anywhere) Bootie: Carson’s
